. MSRP MSRP The Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price ('MSRP'), sometimes known as the sticker price, is the retail price suggested by the manufacturer. Because the price is a suggestion from the manufacturer, a dealer can choose to sell a vehicle above or below the MSRP. Many vehicles are sold below MSRP.
MSRP/window sticker price $23,890. Market Average Market Average The Market Average is a proprietary mathematical calculation based on actual recent transactions in your area. It provides a statistically accurate understanding of what other buyers are paying for the vehicle you have selected or as you have configured it. Adjustments to the calculation beyond make, model, and trim are normalized based on detailed, anonymized transaction information.
This accounts for the fact that most or all recently-sold vehicles included different option combinations than your specified vehicle configuration. The data underlying the Market Average calculation are filtered for extreme outliers and subjected to a weighted averaging process that considers factors such as the recency of transactions and the timing of data lags. In certain instances, the calculated result is adjusted to take account of abrupt changes in the market that may not yet be fully reflected by recent transaction prices. In all cases where the Market Average is shown there is sufficient sample size and transaction detail to be statistically reliable. Savings of $451 Off MSRP $23,439. Dodge Journey Overview The Dodge Journey is a compact crossover SUV aimed at younger families, with seating for five and an optional third row that expands seating to seven.
Dodge first introduced the Journey with the 2008 model year and it is still in its first generation. Other competing compact crossover SUVs include the Honda CR-V, Kia Sorento, Hyundai Santa Fe and Toyota RAV4. Styles and Pricing Dodge offers the Journey in four different trim levels. The base is called the American Value Package, which includes standard features like 17-inch steel wheels, heated side mirrors, keyless entry and ignition, cruise control, touchscreen infotainment center, dual climate control, a sliding and reclining second row and a six-speaker sound system. SXT models add 17-inch alloy wheels, a cargo area cover and fog lights.
Crew models come with standard features like remote start, 19-inch alloy wheels, leather upholstery, automatic headlights, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, roof rails, auto-dimming rearview mirror, Bluetooth, a power-adjust driver’s seat and a premium sound system. R/T models come with everything Crew models do (except for the roof rails) as well as special R/T wheels, a sport tuned suspension and black leather upholstery with red stitching. A Journey comes with a factory invoice of about $20,000 for an American Value Package model and an MSRP of about $21,000. The SXT trim level adds about $2,000 to the vehicle’s MSRP while the Crew adds about another $5,000. R/T models have an MSRP that is about $1,000 more than the Crew’s. Of course as a member you always receive an upfront price that includes guaranteed savings, as well as a no-hassle car buying experience at your Certified Dealer. Powertrain All but the R/T trim level receive the same 2.4-liter four cylinder engine that produces up to 173 horsepower and 166 pound-feet of torque.
The only option is a four-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel-drive. The EPA estimates fuel economy to be 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway. A 3.6-liter V6 engine is standard on the R/T and is optional on the Crew trim level.
The engine pumps out 283 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed automatic transmission is standard equipment, as is front-wheel-drive. All-wheel-drive is available as an option with the V6 engine.
Fuel economy estimates come in at 17 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway with front-wheel-drive, while all-wheel-drive models come in at 16 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway. Interior Style and Features Dodge gives buyers the choice of an all-black interior color scheme, black trim and a pearl seat color or black trim and a tan seat color. From the moment you climb into the Dodge Journey you feel like you have come into contact with a vehicle of high quality. Everywhere the eye can see there are quality materials that give the vehicle an expensive look usually reserved for near-luxury crossovers, with no large seams or other signs of poor craftsmanship. All of the Journey’s gauges are easy for the driver to read, while the switches and other controls are quite easy to access and use while driving. Especially wonderful is the large infotainment touchscreen interface, which is not only large but also incredibly easy to use. The driver is easily able to manage everything about the vehicle while still keeping his attention on the road.
Storage bins are scattered everywhere inside the Journey, including embedded on the backside of the front passenger’s seat (which folds flat) and in the floor of the second row. Buyers can option for integrated child booster seats on the second row, making the Journey extremely family friendly.
A third row of seating is optional, which is tight but makes an excellent occasional-use seat for hauling around children’s friends to soccer practice. Overall space in the Dodge Journey’s first and second rows is excellent, while the seats are overall pretty comfortable. Storage capacity with all but the first row folded measures 68 cubic feet, which is decent for a small crossover SUV.
Overall Assessment The Dodge Journey overall is worth looking at if you are in the market for a small crossover SUV. The interior of the Journey will easily spoil anyone who rides in it since it easily eclipses the interior of any other vehicle in its class. The interior space is also excellent, making it a solid choice for parents with children who regularly ride in the second row.
The four-cylinder engine is sluggish, making the Dodge Journey a little tedious to drive. But if you go for the V6 engine you will find quick acceleration, even when climbing through mountain canyons or merging onto the freeway. Handling is tight, with the optional all-wheel-drive making the Journey a standout for road handling abilities. If you are in the market for a compact crossover SUV, you should definitely check out the Honda CR-V and Ford Escape, both of which offer modern interiors and handling dynamics. The Toyota RAV4 and Hyundai Santa Fe are also worth looking. For the base model, the average paid price for a new 2018 Dodge Journey is trending $451 below the manufacturer's MSRP. There are eight available 2018 Dodge Journey trim lines. The average savings for the 2018 Dodge Journey SE FWD is 1.88% below the MSRP. Our MSRP Includes the Destination Fee Why does the TrueCar manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) not match the MSRP found on most other websites? We think most sites don't truly care about price, and believe that not disclosing destination fees or shipping charges upfront creates confusion over hidden fees when at the dealership.
Why else would many car manufacturer or leading research websites not include destination fee charges in the display of the MSRP until you've indicated that you want to buy that car? For us it's simple: because the destination charge is always found on the window sticker of a new car, and is a fee that generally is not negotiable, TrueCar includes the value in the calculation of the MSRP wherever it is shown as a total.
The destination fee for the 2018 Dodge Journey is at least $1,095, and can vary by region. Available Manufacturer Incentives, Bonus Cash and Rebates There are no manufacturer incentives or cash rebates currently being offered for the 2018 Dodge Journey. When available, customer cash and dealer incentives can have a significant impact on a car buyer's ability to negotiate a great deal. If you are negotiating the purchase of a new Journey on your own, TrueCar recommends keeping all rebate and incentive information in hand until you come to an agreed purchase price for the specific Journey you want to buy. Figuring Out the Monthly Car Payment Using this week's average price of $23,439, new car buyers can expect to pay as low as $423 a month with a 20% down payment of $4,688 on a new 2018 Dodge Journey.
This price is based on a 48 month average finance rate of 3.9%. It is NOT a high-end car. Dodge didn't put much care into creating these and it does show. The 4- is old that could've been upgraded to improve the entire aspect of this car.
Also, the base quality is more low end than other manufacturers. I'm at 16k miles and my has been feeling sketchy for a while now, it's far too new in my eyes to be dealing with this, so I am very unhappy. The is not that good either.
Again, if they would've paired up this smaller 4- with a better or higher it would've really improved my thoughts. When I purchased this vehicle the rubber molding was also already faded, which is not acceptable for a brand new vehicle in my eyes.
I can say they really helped me get into the vehicle, and I appreciate it, but only shortly after purchase I noticed the flaws in this vehicle. I am a car guy, so I pay attention to every little, vibration, feeling, etc. This car is below average compared to other mfg base models.
The, the, the base included, the have all factored into my opinion. It is NOT a high-end car.

It is very dependable, really well, it's super and for road trips. I absolutely love my car, the only issue that I have recently run into is my vehicle not detecting the when it is inside the car. It's only happened in two very specific spots. There isn't anything wrong with my vehicle (had it checked out), it's a bit funny that frequencies in these two spots are strong enough to effect the connection between the food and the vehicle. I am completely happy with my decision to purchase this vehicle, though. My family and I have really enjoyed our Journey.
